Europump 2025 annual meeting hailed a resounding success

The 28th Europump Annual Meeting and General Assembly, held in Prague in late May, has garnered acclaim from delegates across Europe and beyond.

Hosted by the Czech Pump Manufacturers Association (CPMA), the event brought together industry leaders, technical experts, and policymakers for three days of intensive discussions, strategic collaboration, and social engagement.

The 2025 program featured a dynamic mix of keynote presentations, technical sessions, and working groups. Highlights included George Karkampasis of the European Aluminium Association discussing the transition from the Green Deal to a Clean Industrial Deal, Michael Michaud of the Hydraulic Institute providing a North American market and policy update, and Oxford Economics presenting the World Pumps Report 2025. Additionally, WEG’s Cassiano Cezario delivered a compelling talk on trends and challenges in electric motors.

Delegates also participated in three parallel working sessions focusing on CE marking, global efficiency alignment, and pump knowledge sharing. These sessions fostered in-depth discussions on regulatory compliance, international efficiency standards, and the consolidation of industry knowledge.

Beyond the formal agenda, attendees enjoyed a rich social program, including a historic tram tour through Prague, a national evening at the Municipal House, and a gala dinner in the Hilton’s Grand Ballroom. These events provided ample opportunities for further networking and cultural exchange.

Particular thanks and appreciation must go to WEG, who supported the event as its gold sponsor, and also to Anga and Innomotics, who each provided key support as bronze sponsors. Their collective involvement was a key factor in the overall success and enjoyment for all participants.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Europump President Luboš Michlík remarked: “Hosting the 2025 annual meeting in Prague was both an honour and a testament to our industry’s resilience and unity. The enthusiastic participation and collaborative spirit demonstrated throughout the three days underscores our collective commitment to innovation and excellence in the pump sector.”

The Europump Annual Meeting continues to serve as a pivotal platform for advancing the interests of the European pump industry. Plans are already well underway for the 2026 meeting, which will be hosted by VDMA (Germany’s national association for mechanical and plant engineering) and staged from 27 to 29 May in Frankfurt. Further details will be announced in the coming months.
